My Late Late Toy Show Experience by Odhran Keown from Carrick Primary School


On 12th October 2015 I sent away a video clip application plus a copy of my own book Hermie  The Crab in The Black Lagoon that I’d written to THE LATE LATE TOY SHOW. I was really excited on Friday 23rd when I got a phone call to say that out of the 10,000 children that had applied, I was one of the lucky 40 to get picked to come for an audition.

St Dallan’s Primary School, Warrenpoint Win NI Film Competition

As part of ‘Safer Internet Day 2016’, Mrs Noreen Kelly's Primary 7 class of 32 children from St Dallan's Primary School, Warrenpoint, entered a film competition for schools, run by C2k, EATV, Capita and the Education Authority, in partnership with the Safeguarding Board for NI and UK Safer Internet Centre, based on the theme ‘Play your part for a better internet!’

St. Pius X College student present innovative gaming skills at Intel Summit

Two Year 13 students from St. Pius X College, Mateusz Bartoszek and Luke O’Kane were selected by Intel (Europe) to present their gaming skills at the 12th Intel Education Summit in London.  Mr Duffy (Head of Post-16 and Intel Education Ambassador) travelled with the students to showcase the work of St. Pius X College in this global forum.

Ballynahinch schools visit W5

Year 10 pupils in the Ballynahinch Learning Community attended W5 at the SSE Arena, Belfast to participate in a Force of Course Show. Schools included St Colman's High and Sixth Form College, Assumption Grammar School, St Colmcille's High School, Crossgar and Ballynahinch High School.

All pupils had an exciting and awe-inspiring day participating in a range of practical activities and then after attended the Force of Course lecture and performance.

St Oliver Plunkett Primary School, Belfast receives E-Safety Mark

Assessors from the South West Grid for Learning (SWGL) recently visited St. Oliver Plunkett Primary School to review the school’s e-safety provision. The assessors met school staff, parents and carers, governors and pupils and were pleased to find that the school provides a high level of protection for users of the new technologies.

Swimming success for Carrick Primary school pupil

Congratulations to Rachel Kelly, a Primary 7 pupil, who travelled to Dublin recently to represent Carrick Primary School in the All Ireland Minor Schools' Swimming Competition.

Rachel won a Bronze Medal in the 50m Butterfly Event. Well done Rachel on this tremendous achievement.
